
Andy Gallagher is a professional guitarist with vast education and experience in both popular and contemporary music. In addition to offering private guitar and music theory lessons in both York and Leeds (and their surrounding areas), Andy is available for hire as a solo guitarist for functions and weddings, as well as a dep for established bands in need of a guitarist. Andy is also a founding member of the Leeds based ensemble ‘The Beat Collective’, an experienced party band ideal for any professional function or wedding. Since graduating, Andy has set up his own private guitar tuition business (more details on the ‘lesson's link). Furthermore, Andy is employed by the School of Rock and Pop, a nationwide company specialising in educating school aged pupils in playing and writing popular music as an ensemble. The school also puts emphasis on its tutors to develop both technical and band musicianship skills.
As an alumnus of the prestigious Leeds College of Music, Andy holds a degree (BA HONS) in Popular Music and a BTEC (ND) in Popular Music. This includes significant training in both ensemble and solo performing, as well as education in World Music, Cultural Studies, Music Pedagogy and Music Theory. The course also provided the opportunity to work with some of the countries most successful musicians, including ensemble workshops with the Kaiser Chiefs and leading record label producers.
In addition to his degree, Andy also holds qualifications in Associated Board of the Royal School of Music (ABRSM) classical guitar, classical music theory, popular music theory and rock school performance.

Andy is a founding member and lead guitarist of The Beat Collective, a five-piece party band based in Leeds.
